As part of our corporate wide plan to support diversity and inclusion of under-represented groups, Diversity and Inclusion branch provides supports to increase employment equity throughout the Government of Yukon.
Employment equity means equal access to government jobs for:
- women;
- Indigenous people; and
- people with disabilities.
Recruitment and development of Indigenous people
We support the hire and advancement of Indigenous people. We help people overcome barriers to gaining employment and work to build capacity to compete for government jobs by providing:

- Training and work experience opportunities
Temporary assignments between First Nation and Yukon governments
We support government-to-government relationships through temporary assignment (TA) opportunities.
Temporary assignments are available to employees from both Yukon First Nation government and the Government of Yukon. This benefits both governments by providing valuable work experience and expanding employees' skill sets.
