What services are available to help IEHPs with credential recognition in the Yukon?

Navigation services are available to help IEHPs who are seeking to have their credentials recognized to work in the Yukon.

Participants must be:

• living in the Yukon or living in Canada and able to demonstrate established plans to move to the Yukon within the next three months;

• legally allowed to work in Canada;

• trained internationally and hold foreign credentials in a regulated health profession; and

• pursuing work in a Yukon health care job within the next two years.

Can IEHPs apply on jobs with the Government of Yukon?

Yes, if they:

• Are currently Canadian citizens, permanent residents or have a valid work visa

• Meet the essential qualifications that are outlined in job postings for specific roles

Does the Government of Yukon sponsor health care providers who are not yet Canadian citizens or permanent residents?

No, at this time, we are not able to provide sponsorship.

How can an IEHP become licensed to work in the Yukon health care and social service system?

There are different licensing requirements in the Yukon which depend on your profession.

Turn to the Government of Yukons Professional Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (PLRA) team for guidance.
